Duration: 1 hr 55 mins

Considered to be one of the greatest heist films ever made, Rififi is a noir buffs delight. Directed by Jules Dassin who was black listed in Hollywood by the House Un-American Activities Committee, the film is based on a novel by Auguste Le Breton.
The story is about an aging crook who takes up one last assignment with his pals – to clean up the safe of a prestigious jeweler. For that purpose he teams up with a bunch of guys leading to one of the most riveting scenes in the history of cinema – a 28 minute robbery scene that has no music or dialogue and the process displayed is so meticulous that the Paris police had banned the film temporarily.
The film won Dassin the Best Director at Cannes in 1955 and Francois Truffaut called it the Best noir film he’d seen.
