This Thursday (12th July), 6.30 p.m. Sachin Chatte will host a special screening of Aligarh, at the Cinephile film club, which will be attended by the writer/editor of the film, Apurva Asrani. The details of the film are given below –

Directed by Hansal Mehta, Aligarh is based on the true story of Professor Siras (Manoj Bajpayee in one of his best performances), the head of the Classical Modern Indian Languages Faculty at the Aligarh Muslim University, who taught Marathi. He is accused of impropriety and suspended from his job. Rajkummar Rao plays a journalist who sides by the professor to fight a rather lonely battle.
The film was screened at several festivals with the premiere at Busan and it was also the opening film at the Mumbai International Film Festival in 2015. The film received rave reviews from critics across the globe for it’s theme and the sensitivity with which it is dealt.
The writer and editor of Aligarh, Apurva Asrani (who made his debut with Satya exactly 20 years ago) will be present for the screening followed by a Q&A after the film.
